Department of Engineering, Computing and Design The Department of Engineering, Computing and Design (ECAD) is delighted to be able to offer a permanent position of Senior Lecturer in Electrical and Electronic Engineering and/or Computing. We are particularly interested in applicants with interests in both areas. We are a growing department, having been founded in 2016, and so this is a fantastic opportunity for a proactive, enthusiastic academic to help shape the future of Engineering at the University of Chichester by developing and delivering high quality teaching and building a successful research area. The Department offers a growing range of undergraduate and postgraduate degree programmes in electrical and electronic engineering, mechanical engineering and computer science, including substantial degree apprenticeship provision. Our programmes are recognised for their academic quality, innovation and close ties to the industries in which our graduates will work. ECAD operate from their home in the ‘Tech Park,’ which is a state-of-the-art 35 million building based on the university’s Bognor Regis campus. We are particularly looking for applicants with research interest and experience in one or more of the following areas: Power systems Electrical machines Renewable & sustainable energy systems and technologies Communication systems and networks Embedded systems Computing and software engineering Machine learning and data science Applications, such as the Internet of Things, Edge Computing etc. Additionally, applicants with an interest in developing and delivering interesting project work for undergraduate engineering students are encouraged to apply. A doctorate in a relevant field combined with a developing research record (Lecturer level) or significant research record (Senior Lecturer level) is an essential requirement and you will be expected to either continue with an established research area or establish a new research area which aligns with the Department’s growth strategy.
