School of Nursing and Allied Health

The University is delighted to be able to offer this exciting opportunity to help grow and shape the future of the new Nursing and Allied Health provision. Our current health-related portfolio across the University includes Social Work and Social Care, Psychology, Counselling, Nutrition, Sports Therapy, Biomechanics, Public Health, and most recently BSc/MSc programmes in Physiotherapy.

We are now seeking to recruit a part time Senior Nursing Skills Technician to join the team at this exciting time. The post holder will work closely with Academic staff to manage and plan the deployment of resources and nursing equipment within the clinical skills rooms and simulation suites. Ensuring they are supported effectively and efficiently, whilst embedding and developing the skills/simulation provision within a stimulating, experiential and safe learning environment. An excellent level of customer service is expected to provide general technical support and practice supervision to students and staff as well as maintaining accurate stock records and undertaking a variety of administrative and organisational tasks to support the curriculum.

Applicants must have demonstrable experience of working in a clinical environment or a previous similar environment and of providing technical support to enable learning and development. Line management of technicians will be required as the department grows.

A good working knowledge of Health and Safety is essential, and you must have demonstrable communication and interpersonal skills that enable you to work effectively and build successful relationships at all levels.
