This is an exciting opportunity to work within the Education and Skills department in our Traded Services team. This new role is primarily responsible for managing the West Sussex Services for Schools (WSSfS) portal which is the WSCC gateway for schools and academies to access services provided by both the Local Authority and its partners.

Tasks will include setting up new content, quality control, managing the helpdesk, ensuring the system is fit for purpose, identifying improvements, providing training and guides for users to ensure that the educational traded services offered to schools is up to date, appropriate and accessible.

As WSSfS provides a range of statistical and financial data this post will also be responsible for analysing and presenting this, along with other financial and marketplace information, to track and monitor existing services and assist with the development of additional services to schools.

We are looking for applicants who:

•are willing to work as part of a team to provide a high quality service to customers and service providers
•can demonstrate confidence in gathering, interpreting and presenting data from a range of computerised resources
•have experience of working in a pressured environment preferably where advice, guidance and problem solving skills have been exercised in relation to customer queries and system deployment
•have excellent communication skills and are confident providing system and process training to large groups of customers
•are able to adapt and demonstrate a flexible nature in their approach to work
•are quick to learn and are willing to develop processes and procedures to benefit our service providers and customers
•have or are able to develop good working relationships with the other services across the Council, amongst the school community and through wider Local Authority networks
•have enthusiasm, drive, excellent organisational skills, reliability and who understand the importance of listening to our customers
