We are looking for an experienced and skilled manager to lead our SEN Assessment Team, which is responsible for coordinating assessment, planning and reviewing for children with SEND in accordance with the SEND Code of Practice. The service manager will be a member of the SEND Assessment & Support senior management team which, as part of the Education & Skills directorate, works to improve educational outcomes in West Sussex by championing all our children, young people and learners and ensure they get the Best Start in Life. The successful applicant will have the ability to provide strong leadership, management & direction of the service within the context of developments in education, the continuing implementation of the SEND reforms and our SEND strategy. The successful applicant will have a teaching qualification. They will have proven management skills and be able to demonstrate the application of their knowledge of SEND law, guidance & good practice to the achievement of good outcomes for children with SEN & disabilities. In addition they will have the ability to develop effective working partnerships with a range of stakeholders including parents, and to contribute to the development of policy and provision.
