Our client a prestige furniture provider based in West Sussex are currently seeking an experienced Stores team leader to join their busy and rapidly expanding team based in West Sussex.

The Company operates an integrated Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software package called SAGE Line 500, which encompasses all aspects of sales order, production order processing, inventory control, and procurement and despatch functions.

Responsibilities:

To oversee and implement the safe and efficient operation of the Hardware, Raw Materials stores, Goods Receiving and door stores functions, including:

• Receipt, inspection, safe handling and storage of goods received at Bought-In Stores Locations, including loading/unloading of goods via, as necessary, the use of Fork Lift Truck(s). Goods should be checked against Delivery Notes and Purchase Orders, and material should be in a satisfactory condition.
• Quality inspection of materials, inspected against quality standards and samples, where appropriate.
• Ensure defective supplies reports are raised and issued as appropriate. (e.g. GRN spreadsheet)
• Safe handling and transportation of goods throughout the site via, as necessary, the use of Fork Lift Truck(s)
• Issue of materials to production including appropriate maintenance of inventory records as applicable
• Carry out cycle counting (Perpetual Inventory) as required
• Maintain the Stores Area in a clean and tidy state at all times
• To ensure that all Company and Departmental procedures are followed
• To recommend improvements to current methods and procedures, where appropriate
• To be aware of and comply with the Company Rules regarding Timekeeping and Attendance
• Promote all aspects of "lean" and "5S" within department
• Ensure the department operates within budgeted hours
• Appraisal of reportees
• To give regular feedback to Supply Chain Manager regarding improvement processes, effectiveness and personnel issues.
• To be aware of and comply with Company Rules and Statutory Rules regarding Health and Safety
• Flexibility & ability to cover all storage locations
• Other work, as required or requested, within the business operation

This role will suit a candidate who has worked in a stores environment as a senior member of staff or for a long period of recent employment, Please only apply if you hold the relevant skills and live within a commutable distance of Lancing.
