Supporting a strong and diverse economy is a key priority for West Sussex County Council. The Council has been working closely with partners to develop Place Plans and Growth Deals. The Place Plans identify growth priorities in each area and the Growth Deals identify how the County will work with Districts and Boroughs, and other partners, to deliver the priorities. The Place Plans and Growth Deals include a range of priorities that will transform places in West Sussex including:

•Major Town Centre redevelopment and regeneration proposals
•Working with developers and funders to facilitate strategic housing development sites
•Site acquisition to secure essential commercial space
•Securing key infrastructure (transport, health, digital, education etc) to support the delivery of strategic development
•Maximising growth outcomes from land in public ownership

Key partners include the Local Enterprise Partnership; Homes and Communities Agency; developers and local authorities.

Two new posts have been created to work closely with, build relationships and collaborate with partner organisations to drive and deliver key projects and extensive programmes of area based regeneration.
