We are now hiring Practice Managers to join our extended SW Academy and support NQSWs through their Assessed and Supported Year in Employment.
What is the West Sussex Social Work Academy?

We are revolutionizing the way we work within our Children Services and have launched the West Sussex Social Work Academy so that we can guide and steer NQSWs through that crucial first year of practice. Only the most promising and passionate advocates of children and young people who wish to work in frontline Child Protection Teams will be selected to take part in this programme. The Social Work Academy teams for 2016 are based within our frontline teams; currently in Contact, Assessment and Intervention, Family Support & Protection and Children Looked After services. We are also developing a whole service academy team for September 2016.

NQSW’s can expect
•Reduced and protected caseloads
•Dedicated Training pathway – intensive for the first four months
•Regular reflective supervision
•Group supervision
•Dedicated holistic assessor

What are we looking for?
You may be an experienced worker or SW manager who inspires others and delivers change. You will have a passion and commitment for supporting and developing NQSW’s as they begin their SW career. You will advocate good practice and allow the NQSW’s to reflect on their practice creating a learning environment which enables the NQSW to increase their skills and knowledge as they work with increasingly complex cases.

You will need a full driving licence and access to a vehicle
