We are looking for a Principal Engineer with experience in traffic signals design and road safety, to work with the Team Leader on projects valued in excess of £250k. With responsibility for the technical development, design, planning, technical approval and implementation of pedestrian crossing facilities and signalised junctions, you’ll need previous engineering experience.

You will be required to act as lead engineer, providing advice and guidance in the most complex professional and technical issues of the county council’s traffic signals and Vehicle Activated Signs. Applicants will need project management skills, knowledge of engineering standards, experience in budgetary control, and have the ability to use AUTOCAD and LINSIG.

Designing cost effective solutions for installation/maintenance of traffic signals as well as providing engineering approval to applications made by developers are key elements to the role.

You will have a minimum of a BTEC HNC or degree, be an Incorporated Engineer or have a post graduate qualification within the specialist area (or have equivalent qualification or experience).
