The Role
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Subject Tutor in Interior Design to join our growing academic team at the Bloomsbury Campus. The successful candidate will support the delivery and development of the College’s Interior Design programmes, contributing to high-quality teaching, assessment, student support, and curriculum innovation.
Working closely with the Course Leader, Course Tutors, and the Head of School, you will play an integral role in maintaining and enhancing academic standards while providing a positive and supportive learning experience for students. Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver studio-based teaching, seminars, and tutorials aligned with course aims and learning outcomes.
- Lead or support specific projects, coordinating the input of hourly-paid tutors and visiting lecturers.
- Provide timely, constructive feedback to students and contribute to formative and summative assessment processes.
- Support student learning and wellbeing through regular academic tutorials and engagement monitoring.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of Virtual Learning Environments (VLEs) and digital resources.
- Assist with curriculum development, quality assurance, and programme enhancement activities.
- Participate in student recruitment, including interviews, open days, and marketing events.
- Support the coordination of study visits, external events, and student exhibitions.
- Ensure compliance with Health & Safety regulations and uphold professional standards in all areas of teaching.

You will have a strong background in interior design practice and a commitment to studio-based education. You are an excellent communicator, well-organised, and enthusiastic about supporting student learning and development. You enjoy collaborative working and bring a professional, inclusive, and student-focused approach to everything you do.
Essential
- Undergraduate degree in Interior Design or a related subject.
- Professional experience in the interior design industry.
- Experience teaching in higher education, including studio-based delivery.
- Proficiency in software such as SketchUp, AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, and MS Office.
- Familiarity with Virtual Learning Environments and online teaching methods.
- Strong understanding of contemporary interior design theory and practice.
Desirable
- Postgraduate Certificate in Higher Education (PgCertHE) or HEA Fellowship.
- Experience with EstiMAC/PC or similar tools.
- Professional accreditations such as FCABE or SFHEA.
