The Role
- Accountable for ensuring daily, weekly, and monthly service levels are achieved with quality & efficiency
- Working closely with the Department Manager to achieve and exceed departmental KPI’s
- Participation and Leadership in the NDC Leadership meetings
- Work closely with the CI Lead ensuring NDC process improvement initiatives are executed
- Carrying out daily staff briefings to update and feedback on performance and set out daily targets / objectives
- Motivates & leads the team to deliver an excellent quality of service
- Provides leadership, development and coaching of the NDC team to maximise their contribution & potential
- Drives and motivates the NDC team to achieve the highest levels of employee engagement achieving above Top 5% benchmark
- Develops a pipeline of talent through the Development Succession Planning (DSP) process
- Identifies training needs, and encourages staff to develop their own skills, while providing on the job training
- Attracts, recruits, and onboard the highest performing talent
- Embeds a high performance culture through strong performance processes; regular 1:2:1s and appraisals
- Collates and analyses key metrics to drive service improvements
- Analyses activity levels and collaborates with the NDC Leadership team to forecast Dispatch volumes
- Plans and allocates required resources
- General employee administration including leave of absence, disciplinary issues, performance management and holiday.
- Participates in process improvement initiatives to drive efficiency and achieve Operational efficiency
- Creates a CI culture and mindset in the Shift team
Experience and Qualifications
- FLT Flexi / Pivot Steer qualified (desirable)
- Proven success in people management (+10 FTE)
- Continuous Improvement experience i.e. Lean Six Sigma Yellow or Green Belt (desirable)
- A successful track record of delivering a first class Service
- FLT experience including accreditation
- Experience with Process Improvement including automation, technology and WMS solutions
- A passionate and engaging leader with strong people management & development experience Technically savvy; previous experience with ERP platform i.e. Microsoft Dynamic
