For those with experience in R&D tax reliefs, you've got the opportunity to join an international firm that is becoming increasingly present on the global stage for tax consultancy. Driven by their recent mergers, diverse range of start-up and MNC clients, and their meritocratic working culture, you'll be joining at a time in the firm's growth where you'll reap the rewards of their recent successes but, more importantly, help shape their plans for future growth.

Forget working in an overcrowded Top Tier firm with elastic promises of career progression. Or maybe you're someone who's working in a smaller practice with a limited client base? This is a modern consultancy that is characterised by the spirit of a boutique specialist and client portfolio of a top tier firm.

About You

  • Quite simply, someone who doesn't want to be a number. You'll be responsible for taking ownership of your work (that means having a voice!) and contributing to the growth of the business
  • A drive and desire to learn. Without that, you'll be in the wrong firm!
  • Proven R&D experience, either from a practice / consultancy or in-house capacity
  • Able to explain and simplify complicated tax principles to non-tax people!

About the Role

Reporting to a Senior Manager and the Head of Operations, this position will be responsible for providing expert advice across R&D tax issues and maintaining a strong relationship with a diverse portfolio of clients (ranging from start-ups to blue chips). Your average day as an R&D Tax Consultant could include:

  • Meeting with pre-existing or prospective clients to consult across R&D reliefs
  • Providing specialist advice on R&D tax reliefs (both technical and financial aspects), preparing written reports, and supporting R&D tax claims
  • Engaging and interviewing with in-house technical staff to understand their activities in order to provide a credible assessment and eligibility of R&D opportunities
  • Liaising with HMRC on behalf of clients for all R&D issues

And what does the job come with? Alongside a competitive salary and performance related bonus scheme, you'll also have:

  • Permanent health insurance
  • Private healthcare & health cash plan
  • Flexible working
  • iPhone and laptop
  • Monthly subsistence allowance
  • Regular team-building events and company socials
  • Annual company awards
  • Excellent external training & development opportunities
