We are currently seeking a full time Sports Science Laboratory Technician to join the Institute of Sport on a temporary basis of up to 12 months to cover a period of maternity leave. The post holder will maintain Sports laboratory facilities and equipment, and demonstrate use of equipment to staff and students.

You will support the senior technician in ensuring the delivery of the laboratory requests in the Tudor Hale Centre for Sport and maintaining an agreed booking system for laboratory space and equipment for this area.

You will provide support to maintain and co-ordinate all laboratory facilities and equipment to enable project work, research activities and practical work to run efficiently and smoothly.

In addition you will support students by demonstrating techniques and the safe operation of equipment ensuring that sound experimental practices are followed, particularly where humans are participants of practical activities. This will include assisting with blood sampling procedures.

Qualified to ''A'' level/HNC standard or equivalent in a scientific discipline you will demonstrate an awareness of Health and Safety regulations within a life sciences laboratory environment. A high level of organisational and communication skills are essential for the role.

This position will require a Disclosure and Barring Check (DBS) which will be undertaken by the University on appointment.
