With you, with the child…Every step of the way

A message from the Group Manager

''We are looking for a qualified social worker with experience of working with children, families or adults.  With a passion for positive outcomes for all children, you will be supported to develop your skills and knowledge with children with complex needs''. Mel - Group manager

The Disability team is a specialist team based within the Family Support and Protection service.  We provide a holistic service for children with disabilities including assessment, planning and intervention for children in need (S.17), children in need of protection (S.47) and children looked after.
We work closely with multi-agency partners and also have a successful specialist early intervention service – CHOICE – that supports children and families at an earlier stage, including the use of direct payments.

The child’s experience is at the heart of our service: which means that everything we do and the way we do it can be explained in terms of impact and best outcome for the child.

We are looking for a clear thinking, creative social worker. Passionate about making a difference, Our practice framework is based on Signs of Safety underpinned by knowledge of attachment and the impact of developmental trauma on children and families – all staff receive extensive training and support to implement these approaches.
