This new senior post holder will play a significant role in supporting the work of the Human Resources Department.

Taking lead responsibility as Senior HR Officer for specific academic and professional support departments within the University, the post holder will be required to advise on a broad range of HR management issues, interpreting and advising on employee relations policies and procedures and employment legislation, as required. This will include listening to and supporting performance, capability, grievance, harassment or disciplinary procedures and advising on pay and other remuneration issues, including promotion and job evaluation.

Working with the recruitment team overseeing the University's staff recruitment activities, the post holder will regularly review recruitment practices and will benchmark the University's employment package against competitor and/or similar organisations, undertake media reviews, analyse turnover rates and the results of exit interviews. Applicants will be MCIPD qualified with demonstrable experience of planning and developing recruitment and selection processes for large and complex organisations, a thorough knowledge of current employment legislation and well-developed verbal and written communication skills.
