The purpose of this role is to ensure that customers settle their accounts within their agreed credit terms and that any enquiries which may affect the customer's ability to pay are understood and resolved.
The role is also responsible for facilitating the set up of new customer accounts, allocating payments made by customers to the correct account.
The Credit Control advisors report to the relevant Team Leader, but are individually responsible for ensuring KPI's are delivered to their agreed customer base.
The primary tasks are to ensure that customer accounts are set up and maintained accurately, that sound credit references are obtained and appropriate credit limits set to maximise sales potential whilst minimising the companies' potential exposure to bad debt. They are responsible for ensuring that customers settle their accounts within their agreed credit periods and that all monies received from customers are accurately allocated to the correct account. The team will work closely with other areas of Customer Operations in relation to the successful management of customers' credit position ensuring that the balance between sales potential and risk to the business is maintained and cash collection targets are achieved. The role is a mixture of reactive activities – processing customer payments and resolving queries and proactive management of customer account issues to ensure smooth transactions, maximum sales opportunities and successful collection of payment. All activities undertaken by this team will be within the agreed terms and conditions of the individual operating companies and will be supported by their agreed policies and procedures.
