This position offers an exciting and challenging opportunity to work directly with elected members and senior officers to support decision-making, work planning and political management at a high level.
We are looking for someone with excellent communication, influencing and interpersonal skills with an aptitude for project management and negotiation. The successful applicant will need to work flexibly and have the commitment and drive to foster effective working relationships in a challenging political environment. Democratic Services experience would be desirable but is not essential. Each Senior Advisor in Democratic Services has an allocated area of focus but works across the whole service and provides support to the Head of Service. The initial area of focus for this position will be to support the "Best Start in Life" priority area. This will include responsibility for management of the democratic processes involving the Cabinet portfolio areas for Children & Young People and Education & Skills as well as the Children and Young People’s Services Select Committee.
