We are currently looking for a bank of part time Family Support Assistants to join our Supervised Contact team. You should be available to work a minimum of 10 hours throughout the week which could include weekends during the hours of 9am to 7pm. This will be to supervise visits between children and young people and other family members as well as occasionally be called upon to assist in Children and Family centre services. These roles are based in in various Hub Districts across West Sussex.

The opportunity is open to all - whether you are out of work, work full-time, part-time, term-time only or are retired. This could also be an excellent opportunity for Social Work students looking for casual employment to fit around studies etc.

You will protect and promote the rights and well-being of children and young people. You will also be required to perform the supervised contact visits in accordance with the Contact Plan provided and in a professional and anti-discriminatory way.

You must communicate any safeguarding matters or concerns to a manager immediately, maintaining the confidentiality of the information provided to you in the course of your duties in accordance with WSCC’s confidentiality and data protection policies. You will challenge any inappropriate behaviour or conversations that may arise during a contact session.

You will also be required to write objective, accurate and detailed contact reports and submit them in accordance with the relevant deadlines, for which training will be given.

Driving is essential to transport children and young people in a safe and legal manner, using the correct car seats and harnesses as required.

A DBS check is required for this role.
