The School of Media and Performing Arts in the University of Portsmouth wishes to appoint hourly-paid part-time lecturers to a bank of academic staff for teaching opportunities in the 2017-2018 academic year.

We seek lecturers to deliver specific units of teaching on our undergraduate degree programmes in the areas of Drama and Musical Theatre. Part-time lecturers are expected to follow and deliver the established curriculum and contribute to assessment activities including moderation of assessments and dissertation supervision. Although a certain amount of independence in planning and delivering of teaching and assessment is expected, post holders will need to communicate well with the full-time staff and work effectively as part of a teaching team.

Applicants should have a relevant first degree, FHEA or other teaching qualification, and ideally an applicable postgraduate qualification. As well as good general subject knowledge, applicants should demonstrate specialist experience in one or more of the following areas: choral direction, theatre voice and actor training, practical skills, dissertation supervision, theatre entrepreneurship and fundraising.
