NCS Support Assistant

Salary: £17,772 to £18,746
Permanent
Based in Littlehampton
Interview date: 9th June 2017

Through the Integrated Prevention and Earliest Help System (IPEH), we will work with children, families, and young people to help ensure that every child, family and young person is supported to achieve his or her potential. The foundations for future mental health, emotional control, intelligence and parenting ability are all set in place in the early years and the home surroundings, family life and parenting are all important factors in determining positive outcomes for children in the future.
The National Citizen Service (NCS) is an essential experience for all 16-17 year olds, providing an opportunity to build skills for work and life while taking on new challenges. The programme actively encourages inclusion and supports vulnerable young people to participate who may need added support or encouragement to access the full experience.
The programme helps young people build confidence, mix with different social groups and contribute to their community. Young people will have the chance to make new friends, go on residential trips and make a difference within their local area.
Programmes take place outside of school/college hours and have been specifically designed to develop skills that employers and UCAS value.
The WSCC NCS team specifically co-ordinate and deliver the NCS programme across the Midhurst, Arun and Chichester areas of West Sussex during the summer and autumn.
The team have the responsibility to support young people across West Sussex to enable them to access the other NCS local providers who deliver in Crawley, Mid Sussex, Horsham, Worthing and Adur so that all West Sussex young people can access and get involved.
The post holder will provide reliable, efficient and effective flexible support to a team (or across teams) of a high level administrative nature relating to the delivery of NCS whilst complying with statutory requirements. Including responding to typical client queries, giving standard information and guidance relating to the service, maintaining records and producing standard correspondence, providing support and day to day processing according to set procedures.
