Mind in Brighton and Hove: West Sussex - Independent Mental Health Advocate (IMHA) Part Time (21 hours per week) Salary 22,500 per annum pro rata (Actual Salary 13,500 for 21 hours)

Mind in Brighton and Hove empowers and supports people who have experience of mental health issues in Brighton and Hove and West Sussex. Our Advocacy Services take action to help people say what they want, secure their rights, represent their interests and obtain services they need. We are seeking to appoint two part-time Advocates for the West Sussex area, predominantly based in Worthing and Chichester. This role involves providing Independent Mental Health Advocacy, working within the framework of the Mental Health Act 1983 to support people to understand their rights under the Act and participate in decisions about their care and treatment across the area of West Sussex. These posts require an understanding of advocacy, experience of managing a client case load, excellent communication skills and the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a range of professionals, whilst retaining independence. In return, we offer a range of benefits including full City and Guilds training and induction, 29 days’ leave (pro rata) per year excluding bank holidays, 3% pension contribution and access to a 24-hour Employee Assistance Programme.
