Alongside the provision of support to people with mental health problems Coastal West Sussex Mind aims to raise awareness, promote understanding, challenge stigma and discrimination and increase resilience around mental health and the provision of staff training to external services and organisations is a key activity which helps us to achieve this. Over the last few years we have significantly developed this part of our work and we are looking for an exceptional individual with a passion for learning and development around mental health to lead and develop our training team and services.
The successful candidate will need to have a qualification related to training, adult learning or education alongside sufficient understanding and knowledge around mental health and training to be able to quality assure our training work. They will also need to be a confident manager with the ability to lead a team as well as having the organisational skills to develop and plan programmes. A commitment to and experience around involving people with lived experience of mental health problems in the delivery of training will also be essential. The post-holder will also need the ability to develop positive relationships with a range of partners including contractors and sub-contractors. Finally, we are a small organisation, so it’s essential we recruit someone who is a flexible and pragmatic individual willing to get involved in and support the overall work of the organisation when this is required. The ability to travel to sites across West Sussex is essential.
