West Sussex County Council has got an exciting opportunity for an experienced lead analyst to develop and lead the performance reporting for Adult Social Care.

About the role

The role acts as the Lead Performance Analyst for Adult Social Care Services, reports directly to the Head of Performance & Intelligence and is part of the senior management team. The role supports the corporate leadership team and in particular the Directorate for Adult Social Care with the development, implementation and interpretation of meaningful performance reports in order to identify key strategic areas of success and improvement. To be successful in this role it is important to work closely with service managers and to support them in understanding and using performance data in their day-to-day decision making.

You'll have the opportunity to drive a creative and insight-driven approach that will provide internal and external customers with the right information at the right time to drive business improvement, demand management, and innovation in service delivery. Championing an improvement culture, you'll work closely together with the Insight & Intelligence team, Public Health Social Research Unit, the Directorate for Adult Social Care and the functions within the Corporate Services Directorate, e.g. finance. You will be pro-actively seeking new ideas and approaches in producing performance insight, benchmarking and improving data quality. In addition, you'll deliver high quality information, research & analysis to understand cross cutting issues and forecast demand.

About you

You are passionate about data and have a talent for bringing operational performance data to life. You’ll have leadership experience in a complex, multi-stakeholder environment related to Adult Social Care, ideally with public sector experience. You are experienced in working in a matrix management environment and you have a proven, strong track record in leading and delivering creative and actionable intelligence and insight within adult social care to help operational managers understanding their services. You’ll be able to inspire and connect our analysts across the performance team and across the organisation to provide true Insight and Intelligence that enables commissioners and operational managers to understand and improve outcomes for our residents. Ideally, you are familiar with statutory reporting requirements for Adult Social Care and related areas. Knowledge of SQL, Frameworki/Mosaic and Tableau is highly desirable, excellent analytical and statistical skills are mandatory.
