The Fine Art Department is situated in the dedicated artOne building comprising outstanding studio and workshop facilities, purpose built to enable students to make the best use of their talents and potential. The department provides a professional, dynamic and supportive learning environment for the production of high quality and original art work.
The Fine Art Technician - Sculpture and 3D Construction will work as part of the team of technicians responsible for the support of the multidisciplinary approaches to Fine Art. With an understanding of the needs of the students and a good working knowledge of relevant health and safety legislation, you will support safe working practices and compliance with Health and Safety protocols within the 3D area and the department more generally.
Highly skilled in materials such as wood, metal and ceramics, the successful applicant will be involved with setting up of studio spaces and maintenance of the workshop facilities with responsibility for the technical support of Sculpture 3D processes including Ceramics.
With exceptional communication and organisational skills, you will act as one of the first points of contact for undergraduate and postgraduate students to ensure the highest level of customer service, providing general technical support and practice supervision. This will include supporting the MA provision across the summer period and graduation exhibition.
