West Sussex County Council’s Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards team is positive about change and has responded swiftly to the increased need for Best Interests Assessors (BIA). We have a dynamic team that is seeking to expand and employ a number of qualified BIAs on a permanent basis.
The DoLS team is based at Centenary House, Durrington where you will be provided with a supportive team environment and opportunity to develop your practice through regular BIA forums and refresher training to keep you up to date with case law and practice.
We are looking for energetic and highly motivated people with excellent communication skills and a sound knowledge of relevant legislation who can work effectively with a wide range of agencies to ensure better outcomes for customers.
Requirements:
You must have a relevant Social Work qualification (BA / MA Social Work / DipSW or equivalent), be professionally registered with the HCPC and be eligible to work in the UK. All applicants must have at least 12 months recent post qualifying experience working within a similar role. You will also require:
• A working knowledge of Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards and the Mental Capacity Act.
• Best Interest Assessor Qualification
• HCPC Registered
• Car Driver with your own vehicle prepared to travel within the County.
