The Wrenford Centre, a vibrant day centre for adults with learning disabilities situated in Chichester, is seeking an enthusiastic, dynamic support worker with good communication and interpersonal skills to work as part of our team. The purpose of this role is to encourage and stimulate customers, through the provision of outcome based care,that promotes independence, community engagement, and enables customers to develop and/or maintain their daily living skills. At the Wrenford Centre, our key aims are to support customers with high levels of dependency or complex needs, and to enable every customer to be engaged in their local community to the best of their ability. We are very proud of our links with the local community through our Starburst Arts Project, using art, drama, as well as communication and sensory within many sessions to develop customers skills and confidence. Part of your role will be to run sessions under the supervision of staff, as well as to support customers with personal care, eating and drinking (within the individual’s guidelines and risk assessments) and attending to their physical, social, mental and emotional needs, ensuring their comfort, safety and wellbeing. Ideally you will have a Level 2 Care qualification (training can be provided for the right candidate) and you will take part in a comprehensive induction programme. You will be required to carry out escort duties. A current driving licence with a D1 category is desirable.
