Family Intervention Worker
Children's Social Care provides social work interventions to children in need (including children with disabilities and those subject to protection plans and children looked after and care leavers. It is the responsibility of Children's Social Care to offer a range of options for children who need placements outside their families; including fostering and residential care alongside adoption, special guardianship and kinship arrangements.
Within this role you will work with and support parents whose children are subject to child protection plans and under the public law outline where social care are considering to remove the children as they are deemed at risk through care proceedings. At this stage a Family Intervention Worker would assist parents and offering intense, individual parenting intervention to improve capacity to parent adequately.
An experienced child-care practitioner, who understands the value of social work intervention with very vulnerable children and their families you will have NNEB or NVQ3 Childcare.
