We are currently seeking a full time Sports Science Laboratory Technician to join the Department of Sport & Exercise Sciences. The post holder will maintain laboratory facilities and equipment, and demonstrate use of equipment to staff and students. You will also support the senior technician in ensuring the delivery of the laboratory requests in the Tudor Hale Centre for Sport and maintaining an agreed booking system for laboratory space and equipment for this area. You will prepare and maintain laboratory facilities and equipment to enable project work, research activities and practical work to run efficiently and smoothly.  The post holder will also be required to maintain and oversee the laboratory bookings process. In addition you will support students by demonstrating techniques and the safe operation of equipment ensuring that sound experimental practices are followed, particularly where humans are participants of practical activities. This will include assisting with blood sampling procedures. Qualified to 'A' level/HNC standard or equivalent in a scientific discipline you will demonstrate an awareness of Health and Safety regulations within a life sciences laboratory environment.  A high level of organisational and communication skills are essential for the role.
