We are looking forward to a dedicated and dynamic family outreach worker joining our busy outreach team in a maternity cover position. The successful candidate will have knowledge of child development within the Early Years Foundation Stage, experience of working with and engaging hard-to-reach families and the ability to communicate effectively with multi-agency professionals to achieve the best outcomes for children and their families. The role includes home-visiting, leading groups in the Childrens Centre and its surrounding area, active engagement with the Early Help Team and Early Support Team and regular evidencing of child and parental progress. The successful candidate will be able to work independently and as part of a team, will keep accurate and up-to-date records using Holistix (for which training can be provided) and will be solution focused and child-centred when working with vulnerable families. They will be able to work flexibly, including some weekends and evenings. The Centre is a Phase 1 Childrens Centre based on St James Campus in Chichester with an on-site maintained Nursery School. The Centre recently amalgamated with Chichester Rural, giving it a large reach area with a diverse population reflecting the demands and needs of both city and rural living. Applicants will be able to give examples of working with hard-to-reach families, show a clear understanding of safeguarding procedures and demonstrate a sound knowledge of early years child development. A current, valid driving license and use of your own vehicle is essential.
