We are recruiting for a number of full time Machine Operators to work within an Agricultural Environment in the Chichester area.

Purpose of the role is:

To set up and run the packing line machine correctly. To ensure the machine is set up and running safely, efficiently and effectively whilst enabling the team to grade product thus maintaining the quality standards and service levels customers expect to receive every day.

• To ensure that all practices and procedures carried out in the packing areas comply with the Statutory and corporate Health and Safety Regulations.
• To ensure that all practices and procedures carried out in the packing areas comply with Food Safety legislation and Food Safety Systems
• To ensure that the correct programs are being used on scales and checkweighers for the product being packed
• To ensure that customer orders are met on time.
• To assist in preparing the production line for packing during the shift.
• To ensure only products of the highest quality are packed.
• To ensure all packed products are removed into the despatch area at the end of each day.
• To ensure you are sufficiently trained prior to starting a new task.
• To be responsible for your training file, for this being up to date and signed off by yourself and your shift manager.
• To check all the information is correct on product labels by using the mini specs on line.
• To maintain a high standard of housekeeping and hygiene in all packing procedures by cleaning as you go.
• To operate all machinery correctly, safely and accurately.
• To ensure On-Line Recording is carried out accurately.
• To maintain a good knowledge of customer requirements and to ensure the correct weights, counts and labels are used for the customers.
• To maintain a good level of communication with management and staff.

Working Details and Benefits:

• £6.50-£6.91 per hour depending on level of experience

• Up to a maximum of 3 months temping before converting to permanent

• Shift Patterns on a rota basis, i.e. 6am-2pm and 2pm-10pm with 5 days on and 2 days off.
