There’s a chair with your name on it in our consultation and engagement team, which sits within Communications.

We’re on a daily mission to make a difference to the people of West Sussex. We know we can’t change the world but we’re trying our hardest to change our little corner of it and we’re looking for like-minded, skilled people, to join us. You will: • Have a background in engaging with the public, including residents, businesses, voluntary and community sector. • Be a natural people person – a true team player who’s comfortable working with colleagues at all levels; someone who isn’t afraid to make their voice heard. • Have some communications experience and be brimming with ideas to help us engage with our residents. • Love sharing ideas and coming up with innovative new ways to make it easier to engage with people. Digital communications will be a key part of your arsenal, and you’ll be confident writing engaging copy whether it’s for the media, social media, newsletters or corporate and community magazines. • Have experience in co-ordinating events, providing support at events and are able to seek out new ways of ensuring our offer at events is engaging. • Be organised and analytical and thrive on managing more than one project at once – often at short notice. • Solid administration skills • Have a good sense of political nous and the ability to work with people at all levels within the organisation, from front line staff through to our Council Leader, Cabinet Members and senior council officers. • Never be afraid to blaze a trail trying new things.
