An exciting new position has arisen within our extremely busy food service business working alongside the directors to manage the purchase & sales ledger along with other duties within the company.

The position will offer a challenging role, with plenty of scope for the future. The successful applicant will be a key member of the team and will need excellent organisation and time management skills as well as be able to keep calm under pressure and always offer the highest level of customer service to our clients.

What makes this position different to the normal run of the mill sales/purchase ledger clerk is you will be directly involved with the daily challenge to help dispatch our orders which will include duties such as creating customer invoices, taking orders via the phone and helping with the logistics regarding deliveries of the day, all within a time constraint, making this position a varied, fast paced and active job. 

Key responsibilities

• Maintaining customers account, allocating payments, generating statements
• Managing cash flow
• Be the direct contact for supplier and customer account enquiries
• General office duties including invoicing and answer the phone
• Directly contacting new customers to ensure credit application are completed and references followed up
• Maintaining customer base records
• Counting cash taking and banking

Key skills & experience

• Must have previous experience in a sale / purchase ledger role (Quick Books experience preferred)
• Good IT skills
• Attention to detail
• Accounting knowledge
• Dedicated & flexible to the company's needs
• A good sense of humour and ability to work in a young fast paced environment

We are a successful and expanding family run food service business delivering our products to hotels, restaurants and pubs within the local area.

Hours: Monday to Friday 7am - 3pm

Salary: Negotiable

Location: Eastergate, Near Chichester.
