We are seeking to employ an experienced and qualified (minimum Level 3 childcare qualification) Senior Childcare Practitioner to work with the pre-school children at our day nursery aged 3-5 years.

This position is full time (40 hours) working five days per week.

The position will ideally start at the beginning of September.

You will be a senior member of staff working as part of a professional and enthusiastic team responsible for delivering and maintaining consistently high standards of care and education for children between the ages of 3-5 years. You will be required to motivate and inspire your team and demonstrate leadership qualities such as high levels of organisation and delegation, and the ability to support and mentor other members of staff. You will be confident in your professional approach and the decisions you make. Being adaptable to the changing nature of an early years environment and having excellent communication skills is also very important.

You will be responsible in the absence of the Deputy Manager and will be a key holder for the nursery, responsible for opening and closing the nursery. You will work closely with all senior members of the early years team to ensure all aspects of the nursery day run smoothly and all necessary tasks are completed.

It will be your priority to promote a safe, secure, caring and fun environment for the children to enable opportunities for growth and development through play. In addition you will have responsibility for building close relationships with a key group of children and their families and for maintaining their learning and development records. This will be in accordance with the principles and requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).

You will also be required to take a lead role in the planning, organisation and implementation of high quality personalised learning experiences to help children achieve their full potential.

You will be expected to attend fortnightly staff meetings which are held at our setting on Friday's between 5:00pm-6:00pm. This will form part of your contracted hours.

The Pink Cottage Day Nursery is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
