We are now seeking a University Legal Services Solicitor who will be the point of contact for the provision of commercial legal advice, support and guidance for the University.   Working closely with colleagues in the Faculty and Professional Services, the new post holder will report to the Director of Finance and Performance and will take responsibility for a broad range of commercial and contractual legal issues and   a portfolio of commercial and/or Intellectual Property work.

The successful candidate will be a qualified lawyer admitted to practice in England and Wales and will need to hold a current practicing certificate from the Solicitors Regulation Authority.   You must be able to demonstrate significant current knowledge of legal principals particularly in contract law, commercial law and intellectual property law.   Your communication skills will enable you to inspire confidence when providing advice as you will need to articulate legal principals clearly and concisely both in writing and orally.   Direct law experience within Higher Education is desirable.
