We have recently partnered with a prestigious University that is growing their suite of online further education programmes.

 

About You

The Programme Development Manager works in close collaboration with academics at prestigious universities and the Wiley development team to develop innovative and engaging online further education courses that inspire students whilst adhering to best practice principles in online learning.

Supported by the Instructional Designers, you will also collaborate with the graduate school level Administration on curriculum development, course scheduling, orientation, student services/ resources and other resources that support the programme.

Other key areas of responsibility include:

  • Leading programme and module design and development strategies including andragogy, technology, community, assessment, and media approaches;
  • Managing the programme launch process as well as term-to-term operations related to supporting online courses;
  • Leading and managing Instructional Designers and Learning Technologists to deliver course development, faculty training, term-to-term operations, technology implementation and support services;
  • Collaborating effectively with media developers, video producers, editors, client managers, and other colleagues in a matrixed, high-accountability, cross-cultural environment;
  • Engaging academics in orientation and training opportunities to cultivate a community of practice around teaching online.

You will also consult with the associated School Administration in strategies related to the growth of the programmes, including hiring, training and supporting adjunct Faculty and providing expertise and ongoing support to the Faculty and School Administration in web technologies, Virtual Learning Environment use, and online best practice.

 

Selection Criteria

  • Previous experience designing learner-centred online further education courses and instructional media to a high standard;
  • Significant experience working with subject matter experts and higher education Faculty in the development of quality online learning products which adhere to best practice;
  • Must have a strong background in learning theory, interaction design and online instruction;
  • Must have significant experience of working collaboratively with higher-ed Faculty in the development of online courses;
  • Advanced level experience with CMS systems such as Blackboard, WebCT, or ANGEL
  • Must have online teaching experience;
  • Experience of managing high performing teams;
  • Must demonstrate accuracy and attention to detail in order to produce a quality product;
  • Excellent communication skills both oral and written with the ability to communicate effectively through a variety of mediums (electronic, phone, face to face);
  • Excellent time and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects in an organised and methodical manner;
  • The ability to work effectively and collaboratively in teams as well as cross functionally;
  • Must be a self-starter with the ability to manage own work and that of the team;
  • Competent and efficient in Microsoft Office including Outlook, PowerPoint, Word and Excel;
  • Educated to degree level (preferably masters) or equivalent, in Education, Instructional Technology or a related field;
  • Must have a genuine belief in the value of education.

Other

  • The role will be based in the Chichester office with regular, monthly travel to the partner university (based in the West Midlands);
  • Training and support will be given;
  • Some travel may be required;
