Role Reports to Commercial and Contract Manager. This role is critical to obtaining value for money from the various highways contracts. It is pivotal in the evaluation of accounts and claims from contractors, and the application of price amendments in line with contract requirements and responsibilities. The role critically makes constant challenges to the claims and accounts of contractors and its suppliers to ensure that the Council obtains the correct value and outcomes specified by a range of contracts and services it procures. You will be the commercial lead interrogating and validating Target prices from an Activity schedule with the requirement to interpret and take off quantities from contract drawings. Duties will also involve the assessment and agreement of Compensation Event quotations and final accounts as well as monitoring commercial contract Service Performance Indicators. Experience of a Highways Term Maintenance contract and detailed knowledge of construction and major highway improvement schemes is desirable along with a collaborative approach to contract management. You will have experience using the NEC 3 Contract options A,C and E as well as experience of successfully managing and leading staff. You will also have good communication and influencing skills to enable you to liaise effectively with all stakeholders.
