These are exciting new posts which will offer two work placements rotating between health and social care employers over the duration of the apprenticeship. Six months will be spent working in health a settings on medical wards in either St Richards Hospital in Chichester, the other six months will be spent working in a care setting, in residential care homes and day centres around Chichester and Worthing. Health Settings with Western Sussex Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust You will be participating as a member of the nursing team. Under supervision you will assist the team to give individualised care to patients. Develop essential competency through training and practice to ensure safety and quality are your primary focus Care Settings with West Sussex County Council You will be based either in specialist day services, short term respite care, a learning disabilities day centre or a residential care home for people with learning disabilities, you will be participating as a member of the team. Specialist services are aimed at people with a physical, sensory or memory impairment such as Dementia and people with an acquired brain injury. The services are mainly used by older people but are also suitable for younger adults where their particular needs can be met. As well as the day care services, two of the centres offer planned respite to people with a diagnosis of dementia which is flexible to make sure it meets individual needs. These care settings offer day and residential services across the coastal strip for adults with a learning disability who have a wide variety of social and health needs which we aim to help them develop their life skills. As an apprentice you will work with customers to help them develop their confidence and their life skills. This might be through teaching them life skills, assisting with them craft and art activities, for example pottery, helping them with daily tasks and helping to inform their care plans. This will involve working with other professionals such as Physiotherapists, Nurses and GP’s. You will be expected to follow the values and behaviours of West Sussex County Council

Weekly Wage: 192.38 37.5 hours Based in Chichester
