This is an exciting opportunity to work with the registration service, based from one of our area offices.

The work is predominantly dealing with marriage preliminaries, registering marriages & Civil Partnerships and performing ceremonies. The attached Job profile gives all duties for this grade of post, but these casual posts are based in the ceremonies team, so only deal with the ceremonial side.

You will be given full training in order to undertake these duties.

You will need to have a smart professional appearance, enjoy working with the public and have excellent customer care skills. Accuracy and attention to detail, as well as clear and legible handwriting are essential. You will also need to be patient, tactful and diplomatic, as well as having public speaking skills. You also need to have basic computer skills and enjoy working independently and as part of a team.

You must be able to work weekdays, weekends and bank holidays in order to assist with Marriages/ Civil Partnerships and other non- statutory ceremonies and have the ability to travel independently around the county.

These positions are casual and seasonal as the majority of ceremonies occur during the summer months.

Due to the seasonal & variable nature of this work which requires good availability without fixed hours it would probably suit a person with another income source i.e. retired or possibly with another flexible part time job.

Salary £9.87 per hour, plus an enhancement for annual leave
