Future Solent is the leading edge UK partnership pushing forward the development of a low carbon economy. This new role will work together with our partners in PUSH and LoToNo.

We have an exciting opportunity for the right person to support the partnership in the development of a Cleantech Cluster in the Solent.

The Solent is endowed with innovative companies and research institutions with particular strengths in environmental, low carbon and clean technologies including renewable energy, waste & recycling, low carbon construction and low carbon manufacturing.

Future Solent aims to establish a Cleantech Hub and Cluster to further promote the birth, growth and development of Cleantech companies. This role will be key to supporting the growth of the local economy, creating high value jobs in the Solent, supporting the growth of exports, and enabling sustainable economic growth in the region.

We have made a good start having a well-established and talented board drawn from the business sector, research establishments and public sector.

We have a programme of support including grants for innovative cleantech companies, and the initiation of a cleantech hub.

We are looking for a talented and determined project manager to take the project forward, including developing the business model and plan that will place the cluster on a sustainable footing and linking with relevant European partners and establishments.

To be successful in the role you will need to be an experienced project manager, capable of also developing business plans.

Research skills are essential as is an ability to communicate effectively and engage partners and other stakeholders, particularly from the business sector.

An understanding of Cleantech industries and low carbon economy would be an advantage.

This post is available on an employed basis or secondment two and a half days per week for up to 18 months. If employed, the employing partner would be Eastleigh Borough Council.
