The District Council has recently undertaken a review of its electoral service Unit and is now seeking a suitable person to fill this new post. The Unit comprises of the Electoral Services Manager, Electoral Services Officer x 2, Senior Electoral Services Assistant and Electoral Services Assistant. We are looking for a self-motivated team player with experience and enthusiasm to join a small election team. You must have a "can do" attitude and a good sense of humour is essential.

The postholder will assist the Electoral Services Manager in all aspects of the day to day management of the electoral registration functions and the organisation of elections and referenda. The introduction of Individual Electoral Registration requires you to demonstrate a working knowledge and understanding of electoral law. You will play a key role in implementing and delivering Individual Electoral Registration.

You should have experience of working in an Electoral Services office and will have a strong commitment to delivering accurate work to deadlines.

The district council is comprised of 48 members in 29 Wards and has 67 parishes of which 59 have parish councils. You should hold, or be prepared to study for an AEA qualification.
