We are currently looking for a Financial Accountant to join our Commercial Finance Team in Chichester. You will be responsible for preparing, analysing and reporting Management Accounts for Group Companies, for balance sheet control and analysis and cash flow forecasting and management. You will assist the Group Financial Controller in and for leading various projects, including a new ERP implementation.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Preparing accurate postings and provide detailed explanations for variances within P&L codes throughout the accounts
• Ensuring that all Balance Sheet balances are accurate, providing reconciling evidence and explanations for anomalies
• Ensure all costs are allocated to the correct ledger codes, maintain accruals relating to the individual OVH cost centres, commenting on variances and anomalies
• Daily record of cash movements within the business and future reflections of movements to provide an accurate forecast position
• Finding new efficient ways to extract data from the system and investigating reporting errors
• Ensure the FA register is up to date and accurate, posting and monitoring the depreciation on a period basis
• Preparing and reconciling intercompany transactions and balance within the group
• Providing the business with management accounts to aid future decision making
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
• ACCA or ACA qualified or equivalent
• Financial Accounting background with strong technical ability. Experience in a fast paced industry sector
• Good planning, interpersonal and systems skills
• Solid grounding in finance, with a good understanding of cash flow, balance sheet and management accounts
• Experience of preparing financial and management accounts, including variance analysis and overhead control
• Resourceful, diplomatic and methodical in approach to problem solving and investigating
• Flexible with regard to working hours, ensuring accounting deadlines are met
• Can use own initiative and takes ownership for projects
• Well organised - can deliver against tight deadlines
• Flexible approach, can adapt to change and prioritise as appropriate
• Desire to look for improvements
• Good communicator, able to build relationships across all levels of the organisation
• Experience of MS Office including Excel
