Technical Section Manager
Are you looking for a new challenge? Natures Way Foods based near Chichester are one of the leading Fresh Produce Manufactures in the UK. An exciting role has become available within our Technical Team at our Merston site.
Reporting directly to our Technical Team Manager, you will be responsible for managing Technical Auditors and their workload. Ensuring Technical auditors are trained and developed and working with factory based teams to maintain and improve customer and industry standards of the site and products via auditing, shelf life and other methods.

Key Responsibilities:

• To ensure that the systems for capturing, logging, tracking and closing out non conformances is effective and working correctly.
• Ensure that all required reports from non conformances are generated, published and circulated to appropriate teams.
• To conduct root cause analysis of main issues and then to communicate to teams corrective actions required following where necessary and ensuring all actions are closed out.
• To ensure that the TA's are trained and performance managed for their key accountabilities and responsibilities
• To provide support to your team and your manager through providing cover during periods of absence and at times of high demand, and / or by listening and responding to key issues they may have
• To complete staff performance appraisals for the Technical Auditors
• To manage the daily Daily Quality Assessment sessions and provide feedback to the business and factory teams on where to improve quality.
• To select the samples for customer benchmarking sessions based on customer specifications
• To review and apply customer standards in educating and guiding the factory teams in good manufacturing practices, this should be supported by conducting thorough auditable walk rounds and workshops

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

• QA supervisory experience in chilled products, ideally in short shelf life and/or high care food manufacturing
• Food manufacturing system experience including HACCP and BRC
• Basic microbiology and hygiene knowledge and understanding
• People Management experience desired

Qualifications:

• Food Safety Level 2 or higher essential
• Basic HACCP essential
• Internal Auditing - desirable
