An fantastic opportunity has arisen for an Applications Analyst to join our Business Systems team on a fixed term one year contract. The primary purpose of the role is to provide 2nd level support for the current ERP system (CDC ROSS), mainstream and bespoke enterprise applications, as well as managing incidents passed through from 1st line helpdesk, conducting thorough problem resolution and implementing service requests.

The role requires knowledge of ERP systems and an ability to pick up the many peripheral systems/ applications used within the business. As a member of the applications team, they will contribute to the overall delivery of the IT function as required.

The role will include overseeing new releases of existing business application software, capturing end user requirements and configuring, testing and integrating as necessary.

Working on multiple tasks within a fast-paced environment proactively solving and prioritising problems as and when they arise.


Skills and Experience

- First and second line end user support for all IT systems, with particular emphasis on business applications. This includes ERP systems, databases, business intelligence and related enterprise applications

- Experience of working within a live SQL environment ensuring applications and business workflows are performing and functional

- Ability to quickly dissect bespoke software solutions

- A basic understanding of databases and their functionality

- Manage 3rd Parties to ensure prompt issue resolution

- Understand and resolve support requests in relation to the impact on business operations

- Log, prioritise and resolve support calls within SLAs

- Identifying and quickly highlight new trends within user requests

- Supporting incident and problem management processes

- Supporting change management

- Supporting group wide user communications

- Documentation of applications (changes, testing and implementation)

- Write and execute comprehensive test scripts and user acceptance testing

- Review and analyse the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems and develop strategies for improving or further leveraging these systems

- Ability to accept 24x7 On Call responsibilities to resolve business critical issues (escalation from 1st line and shared amongst the wider team)

- Problem Diagnosis skills (i.e., discovery, replication, troubleshooting, resolution, verification, communication and/or escalation)

- Assisting with project work and undertaking smaller independent projects when required

Desirable

- ITIL V3 foundation or higher

- Microsoft SQL Server (2005 onwards)

- Experience working within a manufacturing business
