The South Downs National Park Authority is a new, exciting organisation that aims to look after the National Park and help people to learn about and enjoy the area. We also have an important role to support the local communities that live and work here.
The Authority became fully operational on 1 April 2011 and we are looking for talented individuals to take this important work forward. We are committed to creating a modern, flexible organisation that works through partnership and supports local action.
We are looking to recruit two highly motivated Planning Administration Assistants, who have sound professional judgement and integrity. The purpose of the post is to provide an efficient and effective administrative and IT service to support the Development Management and other planning functions of the Authority to meet SDNPA planning objectives.
As the successful candidate, you must have the following knowledge, experience and skills:
• Experience of using a planning administration IT system
• Experience of registering and validating planning applications
• Knowledge of current planning practice, legislation and procedures in relation to registration and validation of planning applications
• Ability to work with minimal supervision, good organisational skills with experience of managing own workloads to meet deadlines
• Can work as part of a team, share ideas and information and solve problems
• Relevant work experience in a similar role
And you must have the following education/qualifications:
• GCSE English and Mathematics, or equivalent standard
