My client is a specialist manufacturer based in Portsmouth that currently requires an R&D Engineer for a permanent position.

 Salary is around £25'000 to £35'000 per annum (depending on experience)

You would be working Monday to Friday (37 hours per week)

 Our client is well established and highly regarded in its field; they pride themselves on the skills of their staff and encourage progression and training.

Requirements and Experience

 

For this role you will need a combination of education as well as sufficient work based experience

BSc, MSc and/or PhD or equivalent within an engineering or scientific discipline

Experience of with the Design/development of products, materials, or processes

Must have experience in a similar role within an engineering/manufacturing environment

Must have experience as an R&D Engineer working with smaller products/components

Experience working with small mechanical parts, injection moulded parts, castings,

Experience within a company supplying to the medical, clean room, aerospace, aviation, or pharmaceutical industry

Experience analysing the design and development of products or components

Commercially aware

Ability to use AutoCAD (Basic) must be able to read and understand Engineering drawings

Ability to carry out technical tasks and projects with minimal supervision

Data analysis and problem solving skills

Conduct technical tasks and projects with minimal supervision

Experience of experimental design

Prepared to travel, within the UK and occasionally abroad

 

The Role

Develop new sterile products

Provide support in area of expertise

Managing allocated project

R&D leader for allocated projects

Progress projects relating to the design, development, manufacture, validation, documentation, sale, application, and maintenance of products

Ensure projects are carried out and products are produced in accordance with good manufacturing practice, safety guidelines, and current legislation

Ensure projects meet customer and market requirements.

Maintain project plans and records and report progress on the projects

Ensure product is fit for purpose and of good quality, validated and capable of manufacture
