Our client is a growing

manufacturer based in the Waterlooville area who currently have a requirement

for a Production Planner to effectively plan, schedule and load specific

production lines and to produce work schedules.  You will be working closely with their purchasing

and manufacturing team.

The role


 


This role is Permanent

and you would be working for a secure company with plans for further growth. Salary

is around £30'000 to £33'000 per annum (negotiable depending on experience),

there is free parking, flexible working hours and a life insurance scheme.


 


Skills

and experience


Previous experience as a Production Planner / Scheduler (or similar) within a fast

moving manufacturing environment - i.e. plastics, FMCG, injection moulding, automotive

industry, cosmetics, etc


An in-depth knowledge of MRP systems (as well as strong computer

skills)


Good knowledge of lean manufacturing techniques and continuous

improvement


Proven organisation skills


Must possess excellent communication skills and be comfortable

in a hands-on, pressurised role


HNC in engineering or similar


 


Your main role will be to:


Plan, prepare and produce

production schedules


Prepare master schedule according to customer orders and Sales Forecasts


Convert the Manufacturing

plans into material and component requirements using MRP


Ensure work schedules

accurately reflect current and future demands of the business


Prepare production reports and shop floor documentation packs


Liaise with team leaders

to identify and manage the necessary resource


Release purchase orders and chase up late deliveries – ensure all supplier part

lead times are in line with the product business models.


Attend daily production meetings


Close liaison with internal departments, suppliers, and customers


Implement cost reduction

through productivity and scrap improvements using Lean tools


Monitor subcontract parts

works orders
