The Estate Management department has procured a new software system, Planon, to manage Estate activities and ensure the University meets its legal requirements. The system is also used to capture requests, via an online portal, and manage the delivery of planned or reactive activities and provide management reporting information.
The System Administrator will be key member of the team providing day to day support for the maintenance of the system and when required to provide expert advice and best practice guidance on system usage to colleagues. The post holder will be expected to demonstrate a good understanding of Estate Management activities and to advise on, and recommend changes to, system processes and system usage for the introduction of any proposed new business innovations and legislation; included in this role will be system testing and regular system upgrades.
Working in close conjunction with the Corporate and E-learning team this post holder will provide an interface with IT and be responsible for ensuring the integrity of the system information through rigorous data management, as well as providing data analysis and management information to support the Estate business activities. The System Administrator also provides front-line support and training for system users across the University, and potentially for external contractors using the system.
As the conduit between systems and people it is essential you have a qualification in computing/information technology and the ability to work with a range of people and abilities to deliver high level of written and oral communication skills and present complex information in a concise user friendly way to deadlines.
Applicants must also be able to demonstrate previous experience in managing complex and varied computer based record management systems.
