Marjorie Cobby House is a busy resource centre which assists the enablement of adult customers who are in need of interim support, either to avoid hospital admission or to support those customers who have been discharged from hospital. We also provide short breaks for customers.

As a Support Worker, you will play a key role in enabling customers to regain lost confidence and abilities. You will be required to support customers with various aspects of their daily living skills which may include personal care, mobility and socialisation.

One of the vacant posts will be utilised as a 'front line' Support Worker. This role will focus on meeting and greeting customers and their families on arrival, liaising with visiting professionals such as GPs, Social Workers, District Nurses and Therapists. You will work closely with the establishment's Admissions and Discharge Officer.

Good communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential in these roles and good team work will be vital in delivering good, planned outcomes for customers. Some IT literacy skills would be an advantage as some of the systems used are computer based. However, we will provide support and training where necessary. You will be required to work a combination of both early and late shifts, including alternate weekends, which will form part of your working rota.
